Troubleshooting :: Soft Serve :: STOP4 Error
Introduction
Note: This article applies to all Spaceman Soft Serve machines with digital controls. Analog machines do not have displayed error codes and use analog thermostats.
Spaceman Soft Serve machines have a built-in error code that informs the user when there is an issue with one of the temperature probes. If your Spaceman soft serve machine displays a STOP 4: Temperature Sensor Error, this means that the machine does not think the temperature being reported by the sensor is accurate or there is no sensor connected to the control board. In most cases, a new temperature probe is required to resolve the error, and the machine is not able to operate without clearing this error.
Troubleshooting & Resolving STOP 4: Temperature Sensor Error
- With the STOP 4 error displayed, press the P button to display the cylinder and hopper temperatures. With a STOP 4 error, one of these two temperatures will be very inaccurate (ex. 100+ degrees). This is the sensor that needs to be replaced.
- All Spaceman Soft Serve machines with digital controls use the same temperature sensor for both the cylinder and the hopper: 3.1.02.13.020
- Follow the SS: Replacing Temperature Probe article to replace the temperature probe
- Perform a Soft Serve Temperature Calibration
