Troubleshooting Frozen Beverage RGB light (V3)
Introduction
These instructions are for troubleshooting a RGB mode indicator light on a Spaceman frozen beverage machine.
Required Hardware
None
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Multimeter that reads volts AC and DC
Warning: Lights must be troubleshot with power applied to the machine, make sure to wear applicable PPE and not short any terminals out while testing, which may cause electrical shock or machine damage
Instructions
- Locate control board that operates the side you are working on in the black electrical box mounted inside the machine
- Make sure all connections on control board and plug to the light are tight and in the correct orientation
- Use a multimeter and the wiring schematic to verify the control board is receiving 12V ac from its transformer (lights should be present on the board)
- If there is 12V to the control board, move onto the next step, if not, troubleshoot transformer to find out why it is not sending correct power to board
- Take a DC voltage reading on the red, blue, and green wire going to the light using the control board ground. (see below)
- You should have measurable DC voltage on all wires/ board connections, if not, the control board is defective (See below picture for reference of board connections for light)
- If there is measurable DC voltage going to the light, and it will not come on, the light is defective.
