Spaceman Dispensing Doors and Beater Rods

Dispensing Doors and Beater Rods

Parts and Accessories :: Determining Correct Dispensing Doors and Beater Rods

All Spaceman USA soft serve machines utilize a dispensing door with an attached beater rod that helps break up the soft serve in the middle of the auger or beater.  This beater rod is semi-permanently installed onto the dispensing door and is usually never removed or replaced unless damaged due to a freeze up or being dropped.  Spaceman has updated these parts multiple times over the past 20 years to improve performance and reduce failures.  Generally a dispensing door is backwards compatible to older models, however, the beater rod must be correct to the specific door.  We have obsoleted some older versions of the beater rod and dispensing door, and if your machine is old enough to have had an older beater rod, you may have to replace the entire dispensing door assembly (both the door and rod) if your dispensing door or beater rod is damaged or broken.

Note: If you have ever replaced your dispensing door, you may have already upgraded to a newer beater rod.  The below information is only for models that have never replaced a dispensing door.   If you ever have questions, it is always best to perform a physical inspection of the beater rod and compare the thread style to determine which version you have.  The change to more coarse threads is obvious.  If in doubt, it’s always a safe bet to upgrade to the latest revision of all parts.

Selecting the Correct Beater Rod

Soft Serve Models, 1.3qt Cylinder Size
Models: SM-6210

1.3qt cylinder soft serve models use a smaller beater rod.  Prior to Serial Number 210437, the thread on the beater rod was finer, and no o-ring existed.  Starting with Serial Number 212341, the beater rod thread became even more coarse to help prevent damage during a freeze up.  Beater rods from 210437 to 212341 are still available for purchase and replacement, but the dispensing doors are not. Doors and rods prior to Serial Number 210437 are now obsolete.  If you require a new dispensing door, you must upgrade to the new beater rods as well.  Please see below for correct part numbers and obsoleted parts.
