How to Wire Temp Probes on a Spaceman SS Machine Control Board
Introduction:
Spaceman soft serve machines utilize PT100 temperature probes to read the temperatures of the hopper and cylinder, if you have a two-flavor machine, there will be one temp probe for the hopper and one for the cylinder per side. These probes wire into the push connectors on the Control board that is mounted on the overhead front panel (The one that says spaceman on it with the buttons).
Warning
Always test the hopper and cylinder temp probes for proper operation, if they are swapped or incorrectly installed this could lead to issues with the standby and defrost operation of the machine.
Required Hardware:
PT 100 temp probes
None
Instructions:
The wires from the hopper and the cylinder temp probe have white labels on them that say GT and LC.
These wires slip into push connectors; to operate these connectors, you depress the white paddle to open the connector, and release the paddle to close the wire inside the connector
GT is the cylinder temperature probe, and LC is the hopper temperature probe.
These sheathed blue wires consist of two small white wires and one small red wire, the white wires are twisted together and installed in the same push connector, The red wire is installed alone.
On the control board, the push connector is labeled on each side telling you which sensor goes where, the GT wires (red and 2 white) go on the two push connections on the GT side, and the LC wires go on the two connections on the LC side.
